Jimmy Choo - You Stole My Heart...

Friday, October 26, 2007

One thing every plus size fashionista knows, you can never go wrong with a fabulous bag or a shoe that commands attention. Never was this lesson more evident than at Jimmy Choo last evening where fashionistas of all sizes, ages and walks of life congregated at the Jimmy Choo Reception for Orlando/Mall at Millenia Fashion Week. I was lucky enough to get an invite to the soiree from the uber-fabulous Alla.

Upon arriving into the store, I was greeted with a flute of bubbly and invited to peruse the new Fall/Winter 07 collection. Alla showed me a number of items, talked at length about the brand and, when I will be procuring my super shoes for February's Grammy soirees, Alla's first on my call list. Also, Jimmy Choo believes in cultivating brand loyalty and their exceptional customer service is a reflection of their dedication to the most important person - YOU.

While some pictures of the limited edition bags/shoes are not available online, you must see some of the items that warrant a second, third and maybe fourth look. You might even want to print out a picture (or three) as a holiday hint for what is on your wishlist.

First and foremost - the shoe worn by Angelina Jolie - the Sami. It's an open toe suede shoe with patent trip and, here's the kicker, it's surprisingly comfortable. (See site for details and availability)

The Rita pump is very swanky for the office or a night out and has that za-za-zoo factor.

This glittering peeptoe, the Debby, is made of a gorgeous Crepe de Chine that says "Glam Factor". It was being tried on by another fabulous fashionista while I was there and, can I say, it may be stunning in person, but even more fabulous when it's on a foot.

Jimmy Choo is not only known for their super sexy stilettos, but also have made the fashion world buzz at their handbags. Such is the case with their well known handbag known as the Ramona. While I liked the prior versions, this bag had me at me at "Hello!" It is very well made, is soft as buttah and in both the gold and the bronze versions - it is AMAZING...

The Gold is more of a White Gold and is delish (can you tell its my favorite?)

The shoes I fell for that I wanted for the Grammys is unfortunately not listed online. It's a limited edition, gray satin sandal with a crystal broach accented with various interlocking matte gold chains for the ankle and front of the foot. It is F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S and deserves to be displayed as art. The same goes for a limited edition fully crystallized hobo bag that was beyond stunning. Only a hundred or so were made and Orlando was lucky to have one.

They also had a few fabulous bags as well, but rather than my chattering incessantly, please, take a look and then go to JimmyChoo.com. For those in the Orlando area, make sure to drop by the Jimmy Choo store in the Mall at Millenia and make sure you ask for Alla.

Cedar Ankle Strap pump. Tell me who wouldn't be a tad surprised at the boldness of this shoe?

Mardi Sandal (shhhhh.. it's on sale)

Seattle Leather shoe with watersnake trim (See site for details and availability) Gives a twist on the work pump with its gold heel and accents.

The Ayse Metallic Shaded Python handbag (See site for details and availability). They also have this in a clutch and the colors in person are magnificent. The website doesn't do it justice.

The Maddy Handbag in Burgundy. A definite conversation piece.

The Rock Handbag in showstopping red and every gal needs a glorious red bag, non?

All in all - a fabulous evening, riveting conversation and glorious eye candy. A gal can never go wrong with the right bag and the right shoes. Why not give a well crafted Jimmy Choo place a new home in your closet? My closet will be making some room to house a lovely or two.

*Many thanks to the management of Jimmy Choo, Orlando for a fabulous time and Alla for being such a fabulous hostess*
