Fashionista +: Heartbreak at Torrid...

Let me set the scene - I'm trotting through the Florida Mall and lo and behold, I see this lovely top at Torrid. It was love at first sight and I knew I was destined to take said top home. It would look SO smart with a pair of tweed trousers and my platform pumps. However, a dinging in the back of my mind reminded me "You are between sizes - try it on".

Remembering that Torrid sizes are a little wonky, I grabbed a 1 and a 2. Well, the 1 - that fit like a 12. The 2 - that was like a small 14. I felt like a bad episode of What Not To Wear and expected to hear Clinton scold me "Tailor - take it in". Alas, vanity took over and I refused to try on a size 3.

In discussing the sizing issues with an associate who told me that they have been having a number of sizing issues and she would talk to the manager. *insert sigh here* I was heartbroken and vowed, when it comes to Torrid - three words come to mind: Try. It. On.

I instead nursed my broken heart with purchasing these boots from Silhouettes. Let's see how they work out or if my heart will be ripped in two again. Tonight, however, I plan on visiting Ashley Stewart to see what they have. At least with their sizing, they are pretty much on base.
